It was a sad day yesterday when a Spanish train hurtled off it's track and smashed into a wall, killing about 80 people and leaving up to 141 people seriously injured. The eight carriage of the Madrid to Ferrol train derailed near the city of Santiago de Compostela yesterday evening and it was carrying a total of 218 passengers and unspecified number of staff.
One of the train drivers who was trapped in his cabin told the railway station by radio that the train entered the bend at 190 kilometer per hour (120 mph); Meanwhile the speed limit on that section of track is 80km/h (50 mph). It was revealed that the driver told the station, "We're only human! We're only human! I hope there are no dea, because this will fall on my conscience."
